*Thursday Throwback* Redecan - Outlaw

December-ish 2019, Redecan released a sativa dominant hybrid by the name of Mistletoke. It was a big hit with customers and myself. What we knew at that time was that it was a limited release for the holidays. Lucky for us, they added it as a staple to their growing menu of cultivars! I was real excited for this one having loved Mistletoke a few months ago, here's my review of Outlaw......

Appearance - 20/25 points
Size: 2.5 points (0 to 3 points avail.); a nice mix of various sizes of nugs. Dense nugs.
Color: 2 points (0 to 3 points avail.); various shades of green paired with rusty colored hairs.
Trim job: 2 points (-3 to 3 points avail.); good job but could tighten up in a few areas.
Moisture: 3 points (-5 to 5 points avail.); crunchy on the outside, sticky on the inside.
Bag Appeal: 2.5 points (0 to 3 points avail.); the various size nugs sparkle in the light!
Weight: 5 points (-5 to 5 points avail.); weight was bang on, 7 grams.
Trichomes: 3 points (0 to 3 points avail.); covered in trichomes! Most have trichome heads milky in color, with a couple on the clear side.
Seeds: 0 points (-2 points per seed, max of -10 points); no seeds found.
Smell - 15/25 points
Appealing: 7 points (0 to 10 points avail.); earthy, buttery, hint of citrus zest and a little floral.
Fragrant: 5 points (0 to 8 points avail.); a bit of a smell when you open the jar, but break up a nug and it fills your nose holes!
Pungent: 3 points (0 to 7 points avail.); not overly pungent but that earthiness does grab a hold of a few nose hairs!
Bad Smell: 0 points (-5 to 0 points avail.); no bad smells.
Taste - 11/25 points
Flavor when Smoked: 1 point (-5 to 5 points avail.); very weak, almost no flavor!
Harshness when Smoked: 3 points (-5 to 5 points avail.); fairly smooth but I did find it dried out my throat which made me cough a bit.
Flavor when Vaped: 1 point (-5 to 5 points avail.); I had hoped vaping would bring out the flavors of the cannabis, but sadly, I was wrong.
Harshness when Vaped: 4 points (-5 to 5 points avail.); smoother than when smoking in a joint, but still dries out the throat.
Flavor from unlit inhale: 2 points (0 to 5 points avail.); like buttery grass clippings.
Effects/Experience - 7/15 points
Strength: 2 points (-3 to 3 points avail.); buzz sits heavy but doesn't floor me.
Length: 2 points (-3 to 3 points avail.); 40 minutes give or take.
Expected Effects: 0 points (-3 to 3 points avail.); to me, this felt “indica-like” all the way! Body relaxed, eyes super heavy, laying on the couch....is it nap time?
Ash: 1 point (-3 to 3 points avail.); although the photo makes it look ok, it was definitely darker in person.
Burn: 2 points (-3 to 3 points avail.); minor issues, nothing major
Value - 5/10 points
Quality: 2 points (-5 to 5 points avail.); looks great, smells ok, taste is barely there! I love myself some flavorful cannabis....some wouldn't care what it lacks in the flavor category.
Cannabis: 3 points (-5 to 5 points avail.); enjoyable buzz if the buzz was all that I was looking for. It's sativa dominant, but definitely had me laid out on the couch unmotivated to do anything!

One thing I'll mention, if you loved the Mistletoke from holidays 2019, this Outlaw tastes and feels very different! I was a little disappointed in Outlaw, but probably more so in the sense that it wasn't how I remembered Mistletoke!
